The DCP Holding Company, known as The Dental Care Plus Group (DCPG), is the brainchild of several leading dentists practicing in greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky communities. DCPG’s founding shareholder dentists chose to exert influence on managed care in their market by creating a plan that balances the interests of all stakesholders – dentists, members, employers and shareholders. And it’s worked for more than 20 years. Today, DCPG is considered a national model for provider-owned carriers.

Dental Care Plus holds a Life Insurance License from the Ohio Department of Insurance. From 2001 to 2008, DCPG’s membership increased by eight to ten percent annually, and premium revenue grew by an average of 14.4 percent annually. The provider network has grown by about 12 percent annually since 2006.

By focusing on deep market penetration rather than rapid, haphazard geographical expansion, DCPG is able to steadily increase market share wherever it operates and retain 96 to 99 percent of the business it secures year-to-year.
